Manchester Local Search Domination
Following on from my Google Places Case Study I thought it would be useful to demonstrate how it is possible for a local business, selling a product or service, to grab a fair percentage of the Google search results.
The case study showed how we set about gaining high rankings for a local tiler with particular emphasis on the areas of Manchester and Cheshire.
The main keyword targeted was ‘Tiler Manchester’ and if you perform a Google search you will currently see the following:
The business holds the A spot on Google Places and has 2 organic listings on page 1 as well.
In addition to these 2 listings the business also appears if you click on the Free Index link (just above the 2 organic listings highlighted) ……………and if you click on Videos:
That’s a fair percentage of the page 1 search results real estate taken by our client for his main keyword and the results are just as good for his secondary keywords such as ‘bathroom tiler manchester’:
plus 5 out of the 10 listings for Videos.
And ‘kitchen tiler manchester’:
Similar results have been achieved for many more keywords for both the Manchester and Cheshire areas.
For a small business this amount of online exposure can make a real difference in terms of traffic, click through rates, conversions to customers and ultimately an increase in profits.
